Shabbir Mohammed · Creative Director
Shabbir is a Fijian designer and the founder and Creative Director of Vivid Icon. His experience spans brand identity, packaging, graphic design, publications, websites, print preparation, signage and production.
He stays involved from the first conversation through creative direction, design development and the practical preparation of work for launch, print, manufacture or installation.
That continuity means fewer handovers, direct communication and decisions informed by both the business objective and how the finished work will actually be used.

Senior-led by structure
Vivid Icon operates as a focused independent studio. Senior involvement provides continuity, informed decisions and clear accountability without pretending every specialist is permanent in-house staff.
When a project needs additional capability, the studio works with appropriate developers, printers, installers, photographers, production partners and specialist suppliers.

Creative direction, design development and production oversight across brand, packaging, publications, digital, print and signage.
Digital and creative support
Supports website workflows, digital production, content updates, launch checks and the practical rollout of approved creative work.
Built through real client work
The tools and channels have evolved. The responsibility to understand the audience, communicate clearly and prepare work correctly has remained.
Hands-on experience developed through editorial layouts, commercial artwork and the practical demands of preparing files for manufacture.
Identity systems expanded into physical environments, vehicles, publications, campaigns and ongoing client communication.
Experienced judgement works alongside modern web systems and contemporary production workflows.
Perspective and responsibility
Shabbir’s Fijian background forms part of a studio history shaped by long-standing work with Pacific, Fiji Indian, South Asian and culturally diverse New Zealand businesses and organisations.
Many of Vivid Icon’s longest relationships began within the diverse communities that make Auckland what it is. That audience understanding now sits alongside commercial, corporate, product and digital work across New Zealand.
For Māori-focused communication, Vivid Icon contributes design capability within a process guided by the client, mana whenua, Māori stakeholders, cultural advisors or other appropriate Māori leadership. Vivid Icon does not claim Māori cultural authority.

The process begins with the business, audience, market, perception, application and next stage of growth—not a preferred colour or visual trend.
Start with who needs to notice, understand or act.
Use hierarchy and language that help people navigate the message.
Create coherent tools that can grow beyond one application.
Prepare work for the real format, supplier and environment.
Use clear review points and explain decisions without unnecessary jargon.
Design informed by how things are made
Vivid Icon’s experience includes print, packaging, signage, vehicle graphics, publications, production artwork, dielines, prepress, supplier handover and digital implementation.
When creative work extends into signage and physical environments, SignSpot provides specialist signage production and installation. For established organisations requiring deeper strategy, positioning, identity systems, governance and long-term brand stewardship, the wider group also includes IMPRNT, an independent strategy-led brand consultancy. Vivid Icon remains the senior-led creative design studio.

Experienced judgement, modern tools
The studio uses professional Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, alongside modern web systems and AI-assisted workflows where they are useful.
Creative direction, client understanding, design decisions, factual checking and production responsibility remain human-led.
